Some Needed Care Packages

The success of Drake's nostalgic 'Care Package' sparked the thought of what other care packages could bless the major streaming services. While some artists have one or two unreleased songs that turned classic despite audiences having to switch apps or commit the sin of music piracy, only a handful would be able to make an entire project of gems that never made their way to the paid streaming powerhouses.

Following the formula created by Drake, each artist's care package will feature a blend of certified, almost mainstream, classics along with the lesser appreciated unreleased gems. Also, as a warning, most of these artists are some of my favorite—which is why I know about some of these songs in the first place—so if some artists are missing let me know, and they may appear on a future care package article.

Click the artists' name for a redirect to what a dream care package from them would look like. Leaks that may be on future albums were excluded along with songs that appeared on mixtapes that didn't make it to the major streaming services.

'Days Before Rodeo' being released on major streaming services would be the care package Travis fans would appreciate most, but a compilation of some of his best SoundCloud releases, album throwaways and "leaked" songs would be almost equally appreciated.

A new album or mixtape or EP or even a melodic sigh would be greatly appreciated from PARTNEXTDOOR before he releases a greatest hits of songs that didn't hit major streaming services, but the OVO product has almost as many unofficial gems as his boss.

Playboi Carti was pretty easy to make a care package for thanks to SoundCloud being his sole platform for some of his biggest early hits, and there was no shortage of options. For a more extensive look into what a deluxe Carti care package could look like check out the article on his leaks.

Bet you weren't expecting Lil Yachty to have a catalog deep enough for a care package. SoundSports keeps you on your toes. A care package from Yachty would hopefully feature some of the unconventional songs that made him loved by the youth and hated by just about everyone else. In fact, a care package of Yachty's best early work would undoubtedly rank as one of his best projects.

A Drake style care package from any of these four would create a similar nostalgic effect and garner further appreciation for past hits. Of course there are likely more artists that have a catalog worthy of a care package, so don't be shocked if another article drops with this format.

Welcome to the team!
